Contracts, blueprints, specifications, maps, letters, legal papers, clippings, and other items pertaining to sewers, ponds, bridges, residences, and other projects that Lawlor or his firm, Lawlor & House, worked on, 1885-1919, including the Newburgh City Railroad, the Nyack Traction Company, the Poughkeepsie Bridge Company, the Poughkeepsie-Wappingers Falls Street Railway, the Poughkeepsie Water Works, and the Hamersley residence. There are also two letters from Gov. Alfred E. Smith to Ralph F. Butts, mayor of Poughkeepsie, concerning a conference on public improvements, 1919. Personal papers consist of letters received concerning business matters, surveying jobs, and William H. Diamond's analysis of the role politics played in his being denied a civil service appointment, 1892-1919, and a letter of condolence on Lawlor's death in 1941.
